The bluffs along the Mississippi River are stunning in their natural beauty, but can be troublesome when it comes to installing a fence on your sloped property. At Wisconsin Fence and Pet Supplies, we have successfully installed underground dog fences on a variety of terrains—from steep hills to the borders of crop fields—so you don’t have to.

With the help of the dealer, you can choose the shape and size of your fence to prevent your dog from accessing certain areas of your yard, such as pools or gardens.
We install a wire underground around up to 50 acres of your property that forms a boundary to contain your dog.
This wire receives a signal from a transmitter inside your home which communicates with the receiver in your dog’s collar, producing a harmless stimulus when your dog tries to cross the boundary.
We use flags to mark the fence perimeter so your dog can see a physical boundary line and get you started training your dog.
You walk your dog around the boundary for fifteen minutes, twice a day over the course of two weeks.
When your dog moves toward the flags, tell them “No!” while moving them away from the flags and praising them.
This helps your dog learn where the boundaries are located. By repeating this process and praising your dog for obeying, your dog will no longer need the flags to remember the boundary. At this point, the flags can be removed.
When dogs come within 3–6 feet of the boundary, they enter a “reminder zone”. Here, an audible warning sounds to notify dogs they’re near the perimeter, avoiding unnecessary corrections.
